These were what the workmen were wearing, and I must say they look very similar to Gon and Killua's the only difference being that most are excessively baggy, much more so than in HxH. And finally I also found toraichi pants (which I believe is both a brand and style). I suppose one could just get a pair with a longer cut. They are almost the style, except that they usually terminate at about the calf rather than the ankle. That lead me to a few things: one is the western Knickerbockers. Next I found an article that discussed workmen in Japan wearing baggy pants. They were close except for the lack of belt loops, but that may have just been those particular ones I saw. I know that the outfits that mangaka create are not necessarily tied to any.
The reference to kung-fu was a good lead so I looked at a few examples of that type of trouser. It almost looks like Harem pants, but without such a low mid section.ĮDIT: I came up with a few things after doing a bit of research. It's been a while so perhaps the YuYu reference isn't correct, but I was just curious if anyone knows what sort of pants they are wearing. It's almost akin to the pants Yusuke Urameshi wears in YuYu Hakesho which I believe was when he was in that contest to see who would receive instruction from the old master (whose name I forget) in the first dozen episodes (which if I am remembering correctly was a different outfit then his regular school clothes). I know that the outfits that mangaka create are not necessarily tied to any real-world articles of clothing, but I was wondering if perhaps anyone is aware of what sort of pants (or trousers) both Gon and Killua wear in the NGL arc with the Chimera Ants? I would just like to know what they're called so I could find more information on them.
